Sortilège Majique The four Majique elements Terminology Majique - How magic is properly spelled in the world. 'Commonfolk' misspell it as 'magic' and misinterpret true majique. Sortilege/Wielder - A 'Majique' user. 'Sortilege' is an older term and is used by ancient wielders such as the Sole-Wielders and those who are knowledgeable of the history of majique. 'Wielder' is the more common modern term. Dark Sortilege/Wielder - A dark/evil majique user. Commonfolk - The term for non-majique users, who make up 80% of the population. Majique Majique is drawn from one's heart and soul, and what connects you to this world and your aligning element. Your aligning element is determined by your personality, rather than where and when you were born. A person can obtain majique abilities if it resonates with their soul, but most are dismissive of it or fear it. A person can also lose their majique abilities if they lose connection to their soul and the art of majique. History of Majique Sortilege Majique is a dying art due to its negative perceptions among the commonfolk. Throughout history, Sortileges were burnt at the stake, accused of being evil, which wiped out a great number of the population. In the modern world, Sortilege Majique isn’t believed to be real by the commonfolk, and you will be dismissed and laughed at. The Black Solstice - The darkest day in history when a terrible fire broke out, wielded by a Sole-Wielder, killing thousands of people. Majique Elements There are four types of Majique-wielders which align with each element and season, as follows: Vernal-Wielders: Spring - Air - North Sole-Wielders: Summer - Fire - East Hivernal-Wielders: Winter - Water - West Havestal-Wielders: Autumn - Earth - South Majique Staves Majique is orchestrated by a staff crafted from sacred wood. It must be crafted by the wielder who intends to use it. Staves come in all shapes and forms, customised by each individual. The most common and classic staff is a branch with various crystals and trinkets bound into it. Some wielders have integrated their musical instruments into staffs when crafted from sacred wood. Staves are summoned depending on the cardinal direction of each element. ❀ Vernal-Wielder staffs are summoned from the air above their head. (North) ☾ Hivernal-Wielder staffs are summoned from the direction the sun sets. (West) 𓋼 Harvestial-Wielder staffs are summoned from the ground below their feet. (South) 𖤓 Sole-Wielder staffs are summoned from the direction the sun rises (east)They are summoned away in opposite directions. ❀ Vernal-Wielder staffs are summoned away towards the earth (South) ☾ Hivernal-Wielder staffs are summoned away towards the sun and light (East) 𓋼 Harvestial-Wielder staffs are summoned away towards the air above (North) 𖤓 Sole-Wielder staffs are summoned away towards where the sun sets in the shadows (West) Crystals Crystals are used as enhancing tools, hence why they are encrusted into staves. Different crystals have different meanings. For example, rose quartz enhances self-love, black tourmaline helps block negativity, and malachite amplifies your emotions. Potions Potions can also be used as a magic enhancer to increase the effect of something. Most potion-brewers tend to be Hivernal-Wielders due to their water element. Other types of wielders can add to their blend for different results. Covens Sorteliege covens consist of four members, each representing the four corners to form and complete a circle to form the fifth element of 'spirit' together. North - Air - Spring West - Water - Winter East - Fire - Summer South - Earth - Autumn Outside relationships are not allowed, as they can disrupt the balance and flow of the energy within the circle, so polyamory is not uncommon among covens. Dark Sortileges If you find yourself feeling drained and low spirits after being in someone’s presence, chances are you encountered a Dark Sortilege. Dark Sortileges absorb others’ energy to fuel their own energy. Like moths to a bright light, they are mostly drawn to naive and happy people. Some can be born as a Dark sortilege, while others can become one by focusing their energy on dark intentions and dark Majique. When you cast spells with harmful intentions, you can veer into the dark territory, and it is believed it's impossible to revert. This is why Dark Majique is forbidden taboo. Hexing and Binding Hexes are cast by drawing your binding symbol on an object, allowing you to exert control over it. You can bind a person to an object and also bind your property from being entered by anyone, unless they are invited in. Curses Curses are like magical infections; they range from stinky feet to cursed hands and failed music careers. They can be cast by placing specific objects relating to the spell and the target into a container of some kind. Little pouches are the most common. The curses can be broken if the container is destroyed or by a counter-curse performed with a mirror and the necessary items specific to the person and the curse itself. Beware, though, if your curse is counter-attacked or broken, that curse you put out will come back to you tenfold, and you can become a Dark-sortilege. Taboos The 4 dark forbidden taboos: Harvestial-Wielders - Earthquakes. Sole-Wielders - Fires. Hivernal-Wielders - Tsunamis. Vernal-Wielders - Hurricanes. They're incredibly difficult to achieve and are strictly forbidden. Soul Dance Majique The ultimate collaboration. When you have a deep connection with someone, you can fuse your majique and increase your power together. It must be mutual and flow naturally, or it won't work. It can't be forced. This can come out from cooking together, or playing music together. Sharing a power together. Familiars Familiars are pets a Sortilege feels bound to. Nari relies on her raven as her telephone. Vernal-Wielders The Vernal-Wielder symbol. Vernal-Wielders cast their majique from the air and the flowers. They transform flowers and other plants into other objects, most commonly clothing. Some can manipulate air into sound and create music majique. Symbol The Vernal-Wielder symbol resembles a spiral flower and air flow. The five sections represent each element, and the combined element of 'Spirit' Alignments Cardinal direction: North, as the air above. Element: Air. Season: Spring. Chakra: Heart. Characteristics Vernal-Wielders present themselves in bold and dramatic colours. They have naturally bright hair colours and eye colours stemming from the spring flowers. They can have purple eyes, pink eyes, or green eyes. Their hair can be purple, crimson, pink, or green. Blonde is rare, but possible. They want to stand out and aren’t afraid to express themselves or rock the boat. They are sometimes referred to as “Forest fairies” for their whimsical natures and being off with the fairies in their own world. They struggle with being grounded in reality. They can also be referred to as “Gremlins” due to their tendency to cause chaos and mischief around them when they’re bored or slighted. They are focused on the present and living in the moment, imploring us all to let free and let go of past and future worries, but they can get too caught up in the present, not thinking ahead to the future or learning from the past. Majique Abilities: Botany - They are excellent florists and gardeners, and they can create crafts from flowers. Seamstressing - They weave threads from plants to make their clothing and dolls. Dark Sortileges can weave hex dolls. Levitation - Powerful and experienced Vernal-Wielders are able to float off the ground. Sound - Because sound is a form of air, they have excellent hearing, and some of these wielders are musically inclined and are able to cast spells with singing and musical instruments. Smell - They have a keen sense of smell in the air. Weaknesses Weeds - They drain energy from their resources and can make them sick. Autumn and Winter - Due to the plants and trees being dead, they have limited resources to wield majique from. Fire - Due to fire burning through flora, they are sensitive to fire. Smell - This can also be a weakness as they're sensitive to foul odors Vernal-Wielder staffs: Vernal-Wielders craft their staffs from blossom tree branches and are often decorated with feathers and flowers, and sometimes mushrooms. Gemstones like rose quartz, amethyst and green stones like Jade are also commonly added. Selene Valley Selene Valley is the fictional town in the country of 'Solaris' Selene Valley is known as 'The Valley of the moon' Dessert Ranch Dessert Ranch is a themed dessert restaurant where employees dress up as dessert-themed animals run by an eccentric man in a cow costume named "Mr. Nice Cream". Most notably, Ashley is Tirameowsu, the Tiramisu cat, and Madelyn is Turtle Cheesecake. Makayla later joins the team as "The Hog Farmer" Maneravn Måneravn (Moon Raven) is Andreas Odegaard's small business majique shop. He delivers tarot reading services and sells handmade spell kits, candles, gemstones, and incense. Voyage Burger Voyage Burger is a popular Viking-themed burger diner. It is well known for its mascot, The Burger Berserker, a Viking who was cursed with a hamburger for a head. Popular menu items include: Odin Rings, The Little Berserker Meal, The Ragnarok Meal, Valhalnilla Shake, etc. Voyage Burger is open 24/7, making it a hotspot for stoners in the middle of the night. The female employees are addressed as 'Viqueens' and the male employees are addressed as 'Vikings', and they all act in the theatre show every evening at 8pm, which only children and stoners enjoy. Hellbent Warehouse A heavy metal bar and nightclub in a converted warehouse. Hellbent is Nuklear Intoxikation's favourite haunt, until they get banned. Makayla also works as a bartender. ❀ Vernal-Wielder/Siren ❀* ENFP - 22 - ♀ - 5'2" - Pansexual Biography Makayla is the sole female member of Nuklear Intoxikation and the band’s bass guitarist. Much like her brother, Craig, she would rather partake in nonsense than practice for the band or perform. If there is a fatty handy, she is right there to sing her hypnotic songs to entice them to devour copious amounts of food, particularly at Voyage Burger. She has taken a keen interest in Ashley and appears to be molding them into someone she once knew. She vaguely implies she knows something about Sunshire. Makayla knows all the right buttons to push to make Ashley hers, and for someone who is just chilling, she has a laundry list of enemies. Makayla used to date Madelyn from the “Tickle Witch Coven,” but it isn’t Makayla’s fault that they parted, and this is the story she tells Ashley. Makayla lies more than a politician and changes her lovers like she goes through Voyage Burger’s Destrukto Meals, but her songs are so sweet and hypnotic that you will forget the red flags and want to sink your teeth into a Ragnarok burger! Hivernal-Wielders The Hivernal-Wielder symbol Hivernal-Wielders cast their majique from the water and are powered by the moon. They can transform water into potions and ice. They can also use the water as a mirror to explore the depths of one's soul or perform 'mirror majique' and illusions. This is why they are considered psychics. They are the antithesis of the Sole-Wielders, drawing their energy from the night and the moon, and weakened under sunlight. Sole-Wielders are light-workers, whereas Hivernal-Wielders are shadow-workers. Symbol The Hivernal-Wielder symbol depicts a moon with a curled wave, representing those elements and the changing tides and cycles of life. It can also resemble a seashell. Alignments Cardinal direction: West, as the sun sets into the night. Element: Water. Season: Winter. Chakra: Sacral. CHARACTERISTICS Hivernal-Wielders are often misunderstood and mistaken for Dark Sortileges due to their affinity for the cold and the dark. They present themselves in dark and black clothing to restore their shadow energy throughout the day. They tend to have dark hair or white hair, blessed by the moon. These majique users are deeply in tune with emotions and tend to be dramatic, or serious and aloof. They tend to be introverted and introspective, and have little patience for people who drain their energy with their idiocy. When slighted, they can be manipulative, with their abilities to cast illusions and potions. They are night owls, sleeping through most of the day and coming alive at night. They also prefer to dwell in cold and dark places. Nari lives in the basement apartment of the Majique Mansion. Hivernal-Wielders are future-focused and implore us to plan ahead and pause and reflect to consider the consequences of our actions. Sometimes they can get too caught up in the future, leading to overthinking and worrying, hindering them from living in the moment. As Harvestials are in-tune with the body and the physical, Hivernals are in-tune with the mind and the emotional. This is why they are sought out as therapists and can help diagnose and heal mind blocks and emotional wounds. However, they can also use their deep understanding of one's mind to manipulate them. Majique Abilities: Water - Hivernal-Wielders can manipulate water into other liquids, such as potions and ice. They can also use the water as a mirror to explore the depths of one's soul. Ice - They can freeze water into ice and cool down a room. They can also craft objects from ice, but they are only temporary as ice melts. Powerful Hivernal-Wielders can use ice as a weapon in combat. Potions - They can craft potions from the water under the moonlight. Their strength varies based on the phase of the moon, with the full moon being the strongest level. Foresight - They tend to have excellent foresight and picking up on people's patterns. They can use the water's reflection to deeply explore themselves and others, making them excellent fortune-tellers and therapists. Andreas also uses tarot cards to guide his readings. Weaknesses: Light and heat - Hivernal-Wielders are sensitive to light and heat, and it evaporates water and melts ice. Daylight/The Sun - With the sun blinding their eye, their energy burns out into the day. They are also more prone to sunburn. They have limited energy stored up from the night they can use during the day, but when it burns out, it can only be recharged when the moon rises again, like a reverse solar panel. Hivernal-Wielder staffs: Hivernal-wielders craft their staffs from birch/black tree branches that have been touched by the moon and the water.
