Queen of Swords calls to set boundaries. Here are some boundaries to keep in mind when interacting as a fan. Boundaries This document serves solely to set boundaries for fans of Branches Of Sunshire , as set by Helladelic/acy , the creator of Branches Of Sunshire. Having witnessed toxic behavior in various fandoms, I feel it is important that these boundaries be established to help fans, as individuals, navigate this fandom. Before I begin, I want to make a few disclaimers: These boundaries are subject to change over time and are set at Helladelic/acy 's discretion. If these boundaries do not resonate with you, then you may look elsewhere for content. Fans are not permitted to take this and adjust it to their convenience, use it to excuse their misconduct, or to excuse and perpetuate their bigotry in any fandom. 1. You are the observer, not a participant in the creative process. This means that you are not entitled to having your headcanons become canon, nor have the content cater to you specifically. All creative decisions are made at the discretion of the creator of said content. Do not assume something is canon just because something happens to fall in line with your headcanon/theory. 2. Headcanons and theories. Do not claim your headcanon or theory as canon if it is not officially stated otherwise or in the official content. Do not insist that my character has an attribute I specifically stated they don't have, or that they would do something I specifically stated they wouldn't. Do NOT debate me on this. You will not change my mind and will be blocked. 3. Pre-reboots and pre-retcons are no longer canon. As the creator, I am free to change character designs, names, pairings, concepts, cut a character from my work, etc. Just because I did something in the past doesn't mean it is still canon now. We are constantly growing and changing as creators, and so will our ideas. It is not up for debate. I will not go back to old concepts to cater to you. 4. Commissions, gifts, and trades are not always canon. Just because you commissioned me for something with my character, it doesn't make it canon. Your character in a crossover artwork with mine won't be added to my official canon story, and some commissioned ideas may go against my official canon, as they were made for the client and what they requested. Do not rely on commissioned works for canon information, unless otherwise stated by me, Helladelic/acy. 5. I am not your therapist. While fiction and fandoms are a great way to cope, do not use them to replace professional help. Do not use your mental health condition to excuse your misconduct in the fandom, and finally understand that therapy/psychiatry is a tool for you to help you, not a miracle that fixes everything. Utilize your tools well. 6. I am not a free sex worker. I refuse to partake in fetish/NSFW RPs. If you want to read about fetish and NSFW content with my characters, PLEASE read my story, see their ‘kinky stats cards,’ and see my artwork. 7. If you choose to create artwork and commissions, PLEASE follow the basic color guideline and be respectful of their race, orientation, and body type. Ashley is non-binary, so please don't depict their genitals. NONE of my characters have pale soles or body hair below the neckline. NONE of my characters have stinky feet, sans Craig. Do not debate this with me. 8. Artwork, fanfiction, and other fanworks. Do not harass anyone for drawing fan art that you may not like. Do NOT “fix” other people’s artwork. No art theft and no Gen AI. This applies to fanfiction and other fanworks. 9. Voice actors, animators, and other crew members are not your friends. Please remember that you are a fan. All relationships between fan and crew member are to be kept at arm’s length. If at any time a crew member wishes to block you for whatever reason, you, the fan, must respect their boundary. You are not entitled to an explanation nor forgiveness. You must accept it, learn from your mistake, and move forward. 10. Likewise, if a fan blocks you. You must respect this boundary. You are not entitled to any explanation nor forgiveness. Any fan is allowed to curate their space however they wish, and by doing so, they set their own boundaries. 11. Shipping wars are not tolerated here. Do not harass anyone for drawing the “wrong” ship or shipping certain characters. Do not claim your ship as canon if it is not officially stated otherwise or in the official content. 12. Do not harass people over fictional characters! People will like characters that have committed crimes and atrocities. This is not an excuse to do any kind of witch-hunting. Likewise, any crimes and atrocities committed by fictional characters of said content do not represent the morals, beliefs, or views of any fan or me. 13. You are not entitled to know about the life and/or business of me or a fan. What we choose to share is on our own terms. Do not stalk or harass anyone. 14. Big-name fandom artists and other participants. While it's good to admire someone, do not place them on a pedestal and glorify them. This leads to parasocial relationships and the building of a false persona of said individual. Be cautious of individuals who act as the fanbassodor or the fandom voice. 15. Callout posts/witch hunts. Everyone has the right to spread awareness; however, encouragement to harass, dogpile, slander, and spread misinformation is not permitted. Check and verify sources and claims. Crew members are not obligated to, nor is it their responsibility to, repost or spread callout posts, Google Docs, etc. Witch hunts go against the point of Branches Of Sunshire. 16. Fans do not represent the views, morals, or beliefs of me and Branches Of Sunshire as a whole. Everyone has their own opinion. Each represents themselves and themselves only. 17. Nobody has a clean slate. We are all human beings and are flawed. There is no such thing as a non-problematic person, and even so, SOMEONE WILL make it a problem for any reason whatsoever. People WILL find a reason to complain and talk shit. It is your job to live your best life and be your true, authentic self. Let people dislike you and love yourself. Real friends have your back and will accept you as you are, as long as you commit to doing better for yourself. 18. Be cautious of those who claim not to be problematic, have done no wrong, and obsess over having the moral high ground. Such individuals are often controlling and manipulative. 19. It's okay to admit that the content is not for you. Such content may not be for everyone, and the worst thing you can do is force yourself to like it. 20. Do not be a zealot and enforce these boundaries. This is a guide, not a gospel. You may refer to them as a reference, but no more. Just because these are written doesn’t mean they will prevent any fandom shenanigans from happening. This document is meant to serve as a reference for fans to gauge whether they wish to engage with certain events, content, or individuals. These boundaries are meant to be vague enough to give fans wiggle room to use their best judgment and watch where the wind blows. 21. Remember that context in a situation DOES matter. 22. Sortilège Majique The four Majique elements Terminology Majique - How magic is properly spelled in the world. 'Commonfolk' misspell it as 'magic' and misinterpret true majique. Sortilege/Wielder - A 'Majique' user. 'Sortilege' is an older term and is used by ancient wielders such as the Sole-Wielders and those who are knowledgeable of the history of majique. 'Wielder' is the more common modern term. Dark Sortilege/Wielder - A dark/evil majique user. Commonfolk - The term for non-majique users, who make up 80% of the population. Majique Majique is drawn from one's heart and soul, and what connects you to this world and your aligning element. Your aligning element is determined by your personality, rather than where and when you were born. A person can obtain majique abilities if it resonates with their soul, but most are dismissive of it or fear it. A person can also lose their majique abilities if they lose connection to their soul and the art of majique. History of Majique Sortilege Majique is a dying art due to its negative perceptions among the commonfolk. Throughout history, Sortileges were burnt at the stake, accused of being evil, which wiped out a great number of the population. In the modern world, Sortilege Majique isn’t believed to be real by the commonfolk, and you will be dismissed and laughed at. The Black Solstice - The darkest day in history when a terrible fire broke out, wielded by a Sole-Wielder, killing thousands of people. Majique Elements There are four types of Majique-wielders which align with each element and season. Their zodiac element determines a sortilege's element. Sole-Wielders are born under fire signs: Aries, Leo, and Sagittarius. Vernal-Wielders are born under air signs: Aquarius, Gemini, Libra. Hivernal-Wielders are born under water signs: Pisces, Cancer, Scorpio. Harvestial-Wielders are born under earth signs: Taurus, Virgo, Capricorn. It must be crafted by the wielder who intends to use it. Staves come in all shapes and forms, customised by each individual. The most common and classic staff is a branch with various crystals and trinkets bound into it. Some wielders have integrated their musical instruments into staffs when crafted from sacred wood. Staves are summoned depending on the cardinal direction of each element. ❀ Vernal-Wielder staffs are summoned from the air above their head. (North) ☾ Hivernal-Wielder staffs are summoned from the direction the sun sets. (West) 𓋼 Harvestial-Wielder staffs are summoned from the ground below their feet. (South) 𖤓 Sole-Wielder staffs are summoned from the direction the sun rises (east)They are summoned away in opposite directions. ❀ Vernal-Wielder staffs are summoned away towards the earth (South) ☾ Hivernal-Wielder staffs are summoned away towards the sun and light (East) 𓋼 Harvestial-Wielder staffs are summoned away towards the air above (North) 𖤓 Sole-Wielder staffs are summoned away towards where the sun sets in the shadows (West) Crystals Crystals are used as enhancing tools, hence why they are encrusted into staves. Different crystals have different meanings. For example, rose quartz enhances self-love, black tourmaline helps block negativity, and malachite amplifies your emotions. Potions Potions can also be used as a magic enhancer to increase the effect of something. Most potion-brewers tend to be Hivernal-Wielders due to their water element. Other types of wielders can add to their blend for different results. Covens Sorteliege covens consist of four members, each representing the four corners to form and complete a circle to form the fifth element of 'spirit' together. North - Air - Spring West - Water - Winter East - Fire - Summer South - Earth - Autumn Outside relationships are not allowed, as they can disrupt the balance and flow of the energy within the circle, so polyamory is not uncommon among covens. Dark Sortileges If you find yourself feeling drained and low spirits after being in someone’s presence, chances are you encountered a Dark Sortilege. Dark Sortileges absorb others’ energy to fuel their own energy. Like moths to a bright light, they are mostly drawn to naive and happy people. Some can be born as a Dark sortilege, while others can become one by focusing their energy on dark intentions and dark Majique. When you cast spells with harmful intentions, you can veer into the dark territory, and it is believed it's impossible to revert. This is why Dark Majique is forbidden taboo. Hexing and Binding Hexes are cast by drawing your binding symbol on an object, allowing you to exert control over it. You can bind a person to an object and also bind your property from being entered by anyone, unless they are invited in. Curses Curses are like magical infections; they range from stinky feet to cursed hands and failed music careers. They can be cast by placing specific objects relating to the spell and the target into a container of some kind. Little pouches are the most common. The curses can be broken if the container is destroyed or by a counter-curse performed with a mirror and the necessary items specific to the person and the curse itself. Beware, though, if your curse is counter-attacked or broken, that curse you put out will come back to you tenfold, and you can become a Dark-sortilege. Taboos The 4 dark forbidden taboos: Harvestial-Wielders - Earthquakes. Sole-Wielders - Fires. Hivernal-Wielders - Tsunamis. Vernal-Wielders - Hurricanes. They're incredibly difficult to achieve and are strictly forbidden. Soul Dance Majique The ultimate collaboration. When you have a deep connection with someone, you can fuse your majique and increase your power together. It must be mutual and flow naturally, or it won't work. It can't be forced. This can come out from cooking together, or playing music together. Sharing a power together. Familiars Familiars are pets a Sortilege feels bound to. Nari relies on her raven as her telephone. World Lore The story takes place in a fictional and parallel universe loosely based on ours. It takes place in the country of Osolaris, which is loosely based on Australia and other countries. Each country has a different name and is inspired from different countries. Hivernal-Wielder - A Majique-Wielder powered by the moon and the sea. Harvestial-Wielder - A Majique-Wielder powered by the earth. Sortilege Slang Wise Tree - A wise person. "You're a wise tree!" Sage - The Sole-wielder slang term for a wise person. "Wow, what a sage!" Bush Goose - A foolish person. Shaggy Parasol - A suspicious/deceptive person. This is due to the shaggy parasol mushroom seeming edible when it has toxins that can harm you. Cycle - A year. Referring to the Earth's cycle around the sun. HOLIDAYS The New Cycle - 31 Dec - 1 Jan The New Cycle is the biggest event of the year as it marks when the Earth has made a full cycle around the sun and is about to embark on a new cycle. It is like Christmas and New Year combined, celebrating all the seasons and majique-users. It is celebrated with gatherings and gifts, and writing out intentions you wish to manifest in the new year. Sole-Wielders burn their written intentions, sending them to the sun to come to light. The Harvestial Equinox - 21 March The Harvestial Equinox is the first seasonal celebration of the year, marking the beginning of Autumn and the end of Summer. The day and the night are equal in length, symbolizing balance and renewal. The Autumn equinox is celebrated with grounding rituals, such as walks in nature, and harvesting and eating the fruits of your labor. Harvestal-Wielders are at their highest energy, while Vernal-Wielders tend to drop in energy during the Autumn, due to their lack of resources with the dead leaves. The Hivernal Solstice - 21 June The Hivernal solstice is the shortest day and longest night of the year, symbolising darkness, stillness, endurance, and the turning point towards the light. It is celebrated with 'Shadow work' rituals, spending time in solitude, and reflecting on yourself in the water's reflection in nature. Hivernal-Wielders are at their highest energy, while Sole-Wielders are at their lowest energy, due to the lack of sun and shorter days. The Vernal Equinox - 21 September The Vernal equinox marks the beginning of Spring and the end of Winter, celebrating new life and balance as the days and nights are equal in length again. People celebrate the spring equinox with spring cleaning rituals, gardening, walks in nature, and festivals. Vernal-Wielders are at their highest energy, while Havestal-Wielders are their lowest energy, most commonly due to seasonal allergies from the blooming flowers. The Sole Solstice - 21 December The Sole Solstice is the last seasonal celebration of the year, marking the beginning of Summer andthe end of Spring. It is the longest and hottest day of the year. People celebrate the Summer Solstice with bonfire gatherings, dancing, and baked and cooked food. Vernal-Wielders The Vernal-Wielder symbol. Vernal-Wielders cast their majique from the air and the flowers. They transform flowers and other plants into other objects, most commonly clothing. Some can manipulate air into sound and create music majique. Symbol The Vernal-Wielder symbol resembles a spiral flower and air flow. The five sections represent each element, and the combined element of 'Spirit' Alignments Cardinal direction: North, as the air above. Element: Air. Season: Spring. Chakra: Heart. Characteristics Vernal-Wielders present themselves in bold and dramatic colours. They have naturally bright hair colours and eye colours stemming from the spring flowers. They can have purple eyes, pink eyes, or green eyes. Their hair can be purple, crimson, pink, or green. Blonde is rare, but possible. They want to stand out and aren’t afraid to express themselves or rock the boat. They are sometimes referred to as “Forest fairies” for their whimsical natures and being off with the fairies in their own world. They struggle with being grounded in reality. They can also be referred to as “Gremlins” due to their tendency to cause chaos and mischief around them when they’re bored or slighted. They are focused on the present and living in the moment, imploring us all to let free and let go of past and future worries, but they can get too caught up in the present, not thinking ahead to the future or learning from the past. Majique Abilities: Botany - They are excellent florists and gardeners, and they can create crafts from flowers. Seamstressing - They weave threads from plants to make their clothing and dolls. Dark Sortileges can weave hex dolls. Levitation - Powerful and experienced Vernal-Wielders are able to float off the ground. Sound - Because sound is a form of air, they have excellent hearing, and some of these wielders are musically inclined and are able to cast spells with singing and musical instruments. Smell - They have a keen sense of smell in the air. Weaknesses Weeds - They drain energy from their resources and can make them sick. Autumn and Winter - Due to the plants and trees being dead, they have limited resources to wield majique from. Fire - Due to fire burning through flora, they are sensitive to fire. Smell - This can also be a weakness as they're sensitive to foul odors Vernal-Wielder staffs: Vernal-Wielders craft their staffs from blossom tree branches and are often decorated with feathers and flowers, and sometimes mushrooms. Gemstones like rose quartz, amethyst and green stones like Jade are also commonly added. Harvestial-Wielders The Harvestial-Wielder symbol Harvestial-Wielders craft their majique from the roots of the earth. They prefer to live a simplistic and peaceful life, grounded in nature. They have excellent spatial awareness, reading the roots of the earth like a map to guide their way. They can sense the presence of people and animals nearby by feeling their vibrations against the earth beneath their feet. They are very-in tune with the body and can diagnose and heal physical illnesses. They can also read the history of who and what they touch. Alignments Cardinal direction : South, as the earth below our feet. Element: Earth. Season: Autumn. Chakra: Root. Symbol The Harvestial-wielder symbol resembles a mushroom, due to their connecting with the earth and the cycle of life, and Autumn being the prime season for mushrooms. CHARACTERISTICS Harvestal-Wielders are rarely seen wearing shoes because their feet are their roots connecting them to the earth. They feel disoriented and unbalanced if their feet can't connect to the ground. Although they can read a room for movement that most others can't detect, they struggle to read the room for hidden emotions and manipulative intentions. They have a lot of patience and tolerance, which can also be detrimental to them. They recharge their energy by sitting at the roots of a tree and focusing on the earth with their five senses. They are also associated with majique mushrooms, and can use them to diagnose and heal people. They are past-focused and encourage us to get in-touch with our roots as an individual and the roots of our ancestors, and the roots of the world around us. We can discover a lot about ourselves and our world from the past to avoid bad history repeating itself. Majique Abilities: Earth manipulation - They can manipulate the earth, but it takes a lot of energy and strength to move greater amounts of earth. It isn't thought possible to cause earthquakes. Wood manipulation - They are able to manipulate wood and trees into other shapes and objects. Reading - They can sense when you're nearby, hearing your footsteps and feeling your vibrations on the earth, and they can read the root of your soul. Juniper does this with her feet. Mapping - They can feel the earth with their feet to navigate their way with the roots of the trees. Touch - T hey have a strong sense of touch. They can identify the deep-seated roots of who and what they come into contact with. Grounding - They are grounded and don't tend to get swept up in the emotions of the moment, and they can help others ground themselves, too. Healing - They are in-tune with the body and can diagnose and heal physical wounds with aid of Majique Mushrooms. Some things are outside of their control though. Weaknesses: Spring/Flowers - They are allergy-prone. Manipulation - Because they are face-value, they take others at face value, making them vulnerable to manipulation. Technology - They can get depressed and overwhelmed by technology. Wind - The wind disorients them. Cities - They are prone to getting lost in cities because of the lack of raw earth and wood for them to connect to and find their way around. Rigid/stubborn - They don't adapt to change as willingly as others. Harvestal-Wielder staffs: Harvestal-wielders craft their staffs from maple tree roots that been touched by the earth.
